The problem seems to be that the front panel mic doesn't show up in the microphone configuration, I can only choose between rear panel mic and rear line-in, the third bullet for front panel mic (which is described in the manual) is missing.įurther notice: My brother got the exact same problem with his Z, but he didn't notice until now because he never uses the front panel.

I bought a used Sound Blaster Z and until now I was pretty pleased with it's performance in combination with my Edifier R1800BT speaker setup, also the included beam-forming mic (plugged in at the rear) works fine for Skype etc.
